Real estate sales are going up while the prices are going down. This is a good time for home buyers looking for a new home. The average price of homes in the Kamloops area has decreased from $322,500 in January 2009 to $294,000 in March 2009.
The price of homes dropped due to an increase in sales between the $240,000 - $319,000 range. Sales also increased in the $520,000 - $559,000 price range.
Overall, real estate sales in Kamloops increased by 46% to a total of 92 homes sold. Compared to 2008, that’s still much lower when 229 homes were sold in the same month. 8% more homes have been listed for sale in the Kamloops area in February. More lots for new homes have also increased to 370.

I see almost the same situation in the Toronto Real Estate. The average price for March transactions was $362,052 – down less than five percent from the same month last year. It was worse the previous months, it's finally clearly visible that the bottom line has been hit and the real estate will finally resume its previous state. The statistics of sales and listings for February were terrible when compared to the February of last year (32% drop in sales) but the month of March was a lot better (only 7% drop in sales). The bad times are almost over:), thanks for the stats for your area.
Take care, Elli
